Dr. Ricardo Bartosik

Dr. Ricardo Bartosik is the Head of the Grain Postharvest Group at the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), Balcarce Research Station, Argentina, and fellow of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). He obtained a Master’s and Doctorate from Purdue University, Indiana, USA.
Research interest includes drying of grains and seeds, application of controlled and modified atmospheres, stored products protection, development of grain postharvest quality management technologies, sensing and traceability technologies for grain and foods, modeling of grain postharvest processes.
Extensive experience in leading and coordinating research and extension projects at national and international level. Extensive experience in R&D projects with private partners. He carried out technical trainings and consultancies on grain management at a national and international level.
Author of more than 100 scientific papers published in international journals and conferences, books, book chapters, manuals, and extension publications in the area of postharvest grain handling.
He is member of the permanent committee of the Controlled Atmosphere and Fumigation Conference and the permanent Committee of the International Working Conference on Stored Product Protection. He is also member of the CIGR (International Commission of Agricultural Engineering) Section V on System Management.
