Prof. Konstantinos Arvanitis
Dr. Konstantinos G. Arvanitis received the B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the National Technical University of Athens, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, in 1986 and 1994, respectively. He currently serves as a Professor of “Automation in Agriculture” in Agricultural University of Athens, Department of Natural Resources Management and Agricultural Engineering, Laboratory of Farm Machinery, where he also served as Head/Deputy Head of the Section of Farm Structures and Farm Machinery. He was a member of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) Technical Committee on Control in Agriculture. He is, currently, a member of the European Society of Agricultural Engineers and of the European Federation of National Association of Engineers, as well a member of the Board of Directors of the World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society. He participated in 5 European and 22 domestic research and development projects. He published over 285 technical papers in international/national books (18/1), refereed scientific journals (95) and international/national conferences (148/24). He is a member of the Editorial Boards of 16 international scientific journals. He served as Guest Editor in 5 Special Issues in such journals. He participated in the Scientific and/or Program Committees of 71 international scientific conferences and in the Scientific/Organizing Committees of 11 national scientific conferences. He also served as Chairman in scientific sections of several international scientific conferences. He is an active reviewer in several international scientific journals (46), book series (2) and scientific conferences, while, since January 2018, he is cerified as an Outstanding Reviewer of the international scientific journal “Applied Energy” (ISSN: 0306-2619, Elsevier Publishing Co.). His research work has received significant international recognition (more than 3346 citations, h-index=26, g-index=54). His main research interests are: Electrification and Automation in Agriculture, Advanced Process Control, Wireless Sensor Networks, ICT and Artificial Intelligence Applications in Agriculture, Remote Sensing, Optimization Techniques an Computational Intelligence, Energy Manage ment and Control of Autonomous Micro-Grids, Energy Management of EV’s in the Context of Smart Grids, Internet of Things, Edge and Cloud Computing, Risk Management Assessment in the Context of Agriculture 4.0, Education 4.0 in the Context of Agriculture 4.0.
