Prof. Marcus Wagner
Marcus Wagner is Full Professor and holds the Chair of Management, Innovation and International Business at Augsburg University. From 2009 to 2014 he held the Chair of Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management at University of Wuerzburg. Marcus Wagner studied engineering, business administration and economics and holds Master’s degrees in economics and business administration. In 2003 he was awarded his PhD from the University of Lueneburg and subsequently obtained his habilitation degree at the Technical University (TU) Munich in 2009. 2011 to 2013 he was Managing Director of the Institute for Business Administration and Associate Dean of the Department of Economics and Business Administration, and 2013 to 2014 Dean of the Department of Economics and Business Administration, all at University of Wuerzburg. After his PhD Prof. Wagner worked in companies within the chemical and semiconductor industries for several years and was assistant professor at the Dr. Theo Schöller Endowed Chair for Technology and Innovation Management of the TU Munich. From 2006 to 2008 he held one of the prestigious European Commission Marie Curie Fellowship at the Bureau d’Economie Théorique et Appliquée (BETA) of the Université of Strasbourg. In 2009-2010 Prof. Wagner was a member of the Biotechnology Advisory Council of the German Federal Environmental Foundation. In 2012-2013 he was a member of the programme commission for the 75th Annual Meeting of the German Academic Association for Business Research (VHB) and in 2014 a keynote speaker at the 3rd GREEN-AgriChains Workshop. His research lies in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and global sustainability, and specifically at their intersection and has been widely published and cited (h-index: 48) in leading journals such as the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Research Policy, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Journal of World Business, Journal of Business Research, Business Strategy and the Environment, Ecological Economics and the Journal of Business Ethics. He is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Engineering and Technology Management and Business Strategy and the Environment and Deputy Editor at Organization & Environment.
