Prof. Michael Clasen

Prof. Dr. Michael Clasen is a Professor for Electronic Business at the Faculty of Business and Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hanover. He obtained a Diploma in Business (Diplom-Kaufmann) and a Ph.D. in Agriculture at the University of Kiel. At the University in Hagen he got a Master of Arts in Philosophie.
From 2010 till 2014 Prof. Clasen was the president of the German Association for Informatics in Agriculture, Forestry and Food Industry (GIL; www.gil.de) and from 2017 till 2019 president of the European Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture, Food and the Environment (EFITA). Since 2019 he leads the working group Digitalization of the Ministry of Agriculture in Lower Saxony, Germany. Before is academic carrier he worked at the standardization of supply chains at GS1 Germany and as a software developer and consultant at SAP.
His research has a focus at Computer Science in Agriculture, Electronic Markets, Auto-ID-Technologies, Standardization, Economical Impacts of new Technologies and Transhumanism.
