“ICT management for the environmental performance of farming systems”

Thomas Bartzanas, is Associate Professor and Director of the Lab of Farm Structures in Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) in Greece and collaborative Researcher in the Institute of Bio-economy and Agritechnology (IBO) of the Center for Research and Technology-Hellas (CERTH). His research area is focused on controlled environment farming systems (crop & livestock), systems analysis and modelling in agriculture, and environmental impact assessment of agricultural farming systems using the life cycle approach. He has participated and coordinated several national and EU funded research projects and he has numerous publications in peer reviewed scientific journals and conferences proceedings. He has participated as an expert in EIP focus groups dealing with livestock emissions and circular horticulture. Thomas act as a chair in LivAge COST action dealing with emissions for livestock buildings and vice-chair and represented of Research/Academic organizations in Food for Life Technology platform in Greece coordinated by the Federation of Greek Food Industries (SEVT).
